Picking the Perfect Swimsuit
by Lori Garcia, editor-in-chief

Have you ever seen a swim suit on the rack
and though it was cute, but when you tried it on, it just didn't seem quite right? Find out how to play up your best assets and camouflage your flaws.

What Body Shape are You?
TOO SMALL BUST TOO LARGE BUST TOO THICK WAIST TOO THICK THIGHS HOUR GLASS PREGNANT
Look for decoration on the top where the bust is. The more "intricate" the top part is, the more proportioned you will look. Look for sweetheart, V-neck, or scoop necklines. There are some lightly padded bra suits, but be careful. You don't want to look like a 12-year-old who's stuffed their top. Find a suit with a good bra. Don't settle for a flimsy bra here, but rather find one with cup sizes....large enough to keep you in.  Also, look for high cut, straight-across tops that will keep your large top in check--Plunging necklines are not your friend. Look for vertical lines or shapes that angle up and down. Stay away from horizontal stripes. They cut you and your height in half, and will make you look thicker. Keep to solids or small prints. Need extra tummy taming? Some suits even come with special tummy panels that help hold you in. Look for suits with higher legs (not that you want to jeopardize modesty) but the higher the cut (within reason) the longer your legs will look (and the less stumpy). Stay away from boycut leg cuts. They will make your legs look stocky.  Count yourself lucky! You have the best figure and can wear anything! From vertical to horizontal stripes, high-cut straight tops, V-neck, sweetheart, and scoop necklines, hour glass figures can have their pick of all the variety. Many of us will be pregnant during the summer months. Now there are really cute suits that flatter while you carry your little one. Most of the cuter ones have full skirts, like this one below, so they don't hug tight around your larger belly. Choose a color you will be comfortable in. Don't pick "school bus" yellow if you don't want to stand out.

A Unique Kind of Suit

Mormonchic Senior Staff Writer Lisa James found an LDS swimsuit company called NoLogo
that makes a unique kind of suit -- ones with legs. She has enjoyed their suits and found them liberating.

"I wore mine two summers ago and had more compliments," Lisa said. "They are unique in that they cover up all the scary things you don't want seen. They come down to mid thigh and look really nice. I was not embarrassed at all to go swimming that summer. I swam everyday. Hopefully, I can do it again."
